Meet the Instructor: Bani MainiBani’s journey with movement has been an integral part of her life. She believes that movement can help you heal in ways you may have never imagined. With the rhythmic movements and vivid expressions of Bharatanatyam, Indian classical dance, Bani’s journey began at the tender age of 6. She completed her debut stage performance in this art form in2006. A natural artist, Bani’s dance talents have extended into Indian folk dances including Bhangra, Giddha, and Raas.
A deep desire to study further led Bani to the peaceful foothills of the Sahaydri Mountains in Kohlwan, Maharashtra. There, she engaged in an extensive training at Chinmaya Naada Bindu, School of Indian Classical Arts. It was here that she discovered the healing properties of movement. A natural environment and silence gave her a chance to listen the guidance her body was conveying. With a fiery passion to pursue study in Yoga, she attained her 500 hr certificate from Sunstone Yoga cademy. This exploration into therapeutic movements for general well-being, specific ailments and spiritual development has been a gift to all her students. Furthering this training, Bani has also obtained a W.I.T.S Personal Fitness Trainer certification, in hopes of helping students understand alignment, engagement of muscles and core development for fitness. Currently, Bani works as Yoga Instructor for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Fujitsu and several private clients. She also provides fitness and resistance training for several private clients. Bani believes in customizing your workout to your comfort level. She believes that movement classes should be interesting, fulfilling and enjoyable. A natural friend, Bani can be your partner in your journey with movement. |
